Registered Waste Carriers
Back Garden & Beyond is registered with the Environment Agency as an Upper Tier waste carrier — so when we dispose of materials on your behalf, you can be confident it’s done legally and responsibly.
What this means
Under UK law, any business that transports waste it has produced on behalf of a customer must be registered with the Environment Agency.
Being on the Upper Tier register confirms we are authorised to carry, transport and deliver controlled waste as part of our installation work.
Why it matters
If someone removes your waste and fly-tips it, the legal responsibility can fall back on you — the homeowner — as the original producer of the waste.
Using a registered carrier protects you and means your old fence panels, posts or decking are disposed of at a licensed facility.
How we handle your waste
When disposal is added to your order, our team will remove the relevant materials from site as part of the installation day.
Materials are taken to a licensed transfer station or recycling facility, where they are sorted and processed in line with environmental regulations.
Where practical, timber and metal components are recycled rather than sent to landfill.
What we take away
- Old fence panels, posts and gravel boards
- Old decking boards and joists
- Metal and concrete fixings we remove
- Packaging from materials we install
What we can’t take
- Asbestos, chemicals or other hazardous waste
- General household rubbish unrelated to the job
- Garden waste like soil, turf or plants (unless quoted separately)
- Items from neighbouring properties we’re not working on
Adding disposal to your order
Disposal is offered as an optional extra on most installation jobs. You can add it at checkout or we can quote for it when you book.
